The sunshine is hanging around a bit longer, cherry blossoms are itching to make their debut, and daffodils are popping up to say hello. This can only mean one thing…It’s almost Spring! We are passionate about inspiring you to get outdoors in your daily life, so we thought we’d share a few of our favorite local spots for your next adventure!
- Humpback Rock: A local favorite with breathtaking 360 views of the Shenandoah Valley. Three route options include: a leisurely 4.3 mi. loop, a 6.6 mi. out-and-back AT trail, or the most popular 2 mi. 700ft climb to the top.
- White Rock Falls: A beautiful 4.4 mile loop that is easily accessible, pet-friendly, and offers views of gorgeous waterfalls, refreshing swimming holes, and lively forest life. Just make sure you take the right trail from the parking lot! Look for the “White Rock Falls” sign, not the “White Rock Gap Trail” sign to ensure you’re going the right way.
- Raven’s Roost Overlook: One of the most popular overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This simple pull-off outlook offers stunning views of the Shenandoah Valley with lots of space to explore the mountain side, set up hammocks, or share a picnic lunch with loved ones.
- Blue Ridge Tunnel: A former 1800s train tunnel transformed into a local, historic attraction. Enter from easily accessible parking lots on either end of the 2.2 mi. trail and take a leisurely stroll along the path and through the tunnel while enjoying views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

We love how each design is being brought to life and will allow our clients to enjoy daily time outdoors in this new Spring season. These updated outdoor areas offer the perfect environment for hosting loved ones or resting after a long work day. We are excited to embark on a new year of projects like this to bring the outdoors closer to home!

A few of our favorite elements featured here are:
Fiber Composite Decking from @fiberondecking - We love their low-maintenance, long-lasting composite decking options made with recycled materials. They offer a variety of colors and styles and are covered with a 25 year warranty!
Westbury Aluminum Railing - This is a great low-maintenance, durable railing option that comes in a variety of colors and styles.
Upside Deck Ceiling (upsidebycolorguard.com) - This under-deck system with internal gutters waterproofs your deck and offers a cleaner look. This is a great way to extend the durability of your outdoor space and increase functionality.

One of our favorite additions to our repertoire this last year has been the installation of home pools!
-
Incorporating a pool into your outdoor area is a great way to spend time outdoors while also staying cool during the summer months. We love how pools create a space for friends and family to gather for a fun time!
-
This project was a fun one to design and form with cool features like an in-pool bar/barstools and two tanning ledges. We are excited to see how it continues to take shape. Stay tuned for progress updates!

We currently offer two types of pools:

There’s nothing like the first campfire of the season! Gathering around the fire with s’more fixin’s and close friends is one of our favorite ways to spend time outdoors while the evenings remain a bit chilly.
-
Our favorite fireplaces to incorporate into our projects are those from @burlyusa. We love these because they are heavy-duty, durable, and handcrafted to reduce smoke! Burly offers a variety of designs and styles to fit your new outdoor space perfectly. While we don’t offer standalone fireplace installations, we do provide them as an add-on to a larger-scale project.

We hope everyone had a great Easter holiday weekend!
The sun was shining here in the Shenandoah Valley so we headed out to the St. Mary’s Wilderness for a family hike and to celebrate @backyardbrian’s birthday! Getting outdoors on the weekend is a favorite family activity and has resulted in many memorable adventures.
Following an early Sunrise Service with our faith community, we embarked on the trail later that morning, taking in the surrounding natural beauty and reminiscing on the times our feet had tread that path before.
Along the trail, bright green leaves fluttered in the wind, a random chipmunk scuttled through the underbrush and spring blossoms greeted us around each corner. While it wasn’t a particularly hot day, a couple of us decided to take a (very cold) plunge in one of the many swimming holes along the way! Spending time among the sights and sounds of nature was a refreshing breath for the soul.
